With this next week being Thanksgiving I've been thinking a lot about all of my many blessings. At the top of my list is my family. My two little boys are the light of my life. I am so grateful for them and all they teach me. Corbin's spitfire personality keeps my on my toes and helps me regularly practice patience. Luke has a smile that lights up the world and makes me so happy to be his mommy. I am also so grateful for EJ, he is a great daddy and husband. Along with all my immediate and extended family they make me so grateful for the plan of salvation and eternal life. I could go on and on about all of my many blessings, but all in all the gospel and family sum up my happiness! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

This is that sweet smile that I am talking about, he is so happy all of the time. And thank goodness for the "Baby Wise" book and my sister Holly answering all of my questions about it. Finally now that Luke isn't currently sick I can get him on a schedule and sleeping through the night!

This is where Corbin has been sleeping every night for the past week or two. He is obsessed with camping and the little tent he made in his room. I remember doing this when I was little, oh how I miss those days!

Luke has already learned to roll from his tummy to his back, sooo fun!

Corbins Birthday is this week, and his can't wait. He makes these pretend b-day cakes out of string cheese and whatever else he can get his hands on. He makes me sing him happy birthday multiple times a day, and has me show him on the calendar what day it is and when his birthday is.

I love these kiddo's!!!

The Life of Luke
2 days old- admitted to the hospital for Jaundice and apnea
2 days to one week- slept with bili blanket
one week old- healthy baby boy
about a week and a half old- started with strider noise
2 weeks to 3- continued strider noise
4 weeks to 7 weeks- chronic cough
7 weeks to 9 weeks- diagnosed with aspiration of formula that turned into pneumonia
9 weeks to 10 weeks- continued with cough, fluid in his lungs, strider and then diagnosed with Laryngomalacia
10 weeks to 11 weeks- Rota Virus that continued for 11 days
12 weeks going on 13 weeks- respiratory virus, then positive H1N1 and Rhino virus

So as you can see my sweet little boy has been sick his whole life so far. Poor kid, but despite all the illness he remains a smiley boy. I work with his Dr. and he waits each week for my phone calls and for his jaw to drop at what else this little boy can get. This last time I talked to him he said that I really need to stop bathing my kids in the gutter. Is there something wrong with that? No but really I am obsessed with hand sanitizer and washing hands, I don't take him anywhere, I guess it's just my luck (or a germy 4 year old boy that lives with us). Hopefully we don't continue on this trend the whole winter!!!

Despite all of our stress with Luke we have been able to have a little bit of fun this fall. My sister Holly came out for a week to visit before she has her baby girl in December. But while she was here me, Corbin, Hayden (her little boy) and Luke all go the Swine flu. So that kind of put a damper on some of our plans. But it was so good to see her, we did some knitting, took a diet break and ate some good food, went to a fun sprinkle shower for her, and did some trick or treating. Corbin had fun going to the pumpkin patch with his preschool, but was sad when he couldn't go to his Halloween party and be a cowboy with his two buddies because he was sick. Despite it all we had a good time, I'm just sad that Holly had to come all the way from Ohio for her little guy to catch the Swine flu, sorry Holls!

My little Lukie

These last few weeks with our new little guy have been kind of stressful. When Luke was born his pediatrician thought he had acid reflux so he has been on meds. Well the last 3 weeks or so he has had a horrible cough and very fussy. I thought that he had a little cold, but he didn't have any other symptoms besides a cough. Well the cough got worse, especially after he would eat. So I took him to his ped., he still thought that he just had horrible acid reflux but he wanted to get a barium swallow and a chest xray just to be sure. Well the barium swallow showed no reflux and the xray showed that he had pneumonia from aspirating his formula. So he has been on meds and we are thickening his formula and giving it to him very slowly. But we still don't know why he is aspirating his food. Anyway to make a long story short, we think that he has Laryngomelacia. This is when they are born with floppy cartilage that flops over the voice box. This explains the horrible strider noise that he has been having and maybe the aspiration. He has appointments with a ENT, and pulmonary specialists to figure out exactly what's up with him. Luckily the last few days he has been a lot better and a lot happier.
As you can see the pictures below how big he is getting and how happy he is. We love our little man so much, it's so hard to see your kids struggle and not know what to do for them. But I know he'll be ok. Anyways, here are some of his cute newborn pictures. I can't believe how much he has grown from just 6 weeks ago.

Fall Time

Last weekend was a perfect swing into fall. Jamie invited my mom and I to go with her and her ward the the General Relief Society broadcast. I was perfect weather and so neat to go to the Conference Center and listen the special messages for us. The next Sunday we went for a ride up to Immigration Canyon to look at the leaves. It was georgeous! I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful state where the mountains are so pretty and we are so close to a living prophet!

Luke seems to be growing up so fast. He is already 6 weeks now and I just can't believe it, he's already grown out of his newborn look. But I have to say he is so dang cute, and the best baby I could ask for (knock on wood). He even has a cold and he is still so happy, (total opposite of how Corbin was). Corbin is loving being a big brother and helping mommy out. This last weekend some friends of ours had a luau, it was a lot of fun. The best part was to see all the little kids out there dancing after the Samoan dancers. Corbin was having a blast jumping up and down, dancing and singing the songs (Ya, if he hears a song once, he's got it memorized, we have to be very careful what we listen to around here). Having two boys is a handful, but it's been a lot of fun so far. I am so blessed!

First Day of Preschool

Corbin had his first day of preschool last week. He loves school with teacher Misty. Everyday he asks if he is going to school today, and is bummed when I tell him not today. He is lucky to have his class with all of his buddies. (Don't mind his mangled face, the day before him and his friend had a little run in with each other).
Last week I also decided to get him a scooter so that he would stop stealing all the neighbors. He loves his scooter, he's pretty good at it too! Corbin is such a good help with the new baby, he loves his "baby broder". He's turning out to be such a great big brother!
